Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., said she is "intrigued" by the idea of being on former President Donald Trump's shortlist for a running mate during an interview with "The Daily Show" this week.

"I want to see Republicans put women on the ticket," Mace said. "I think it’s an important conversation to have, but so too are a lot of other conversations."

Mace noted that she has not been asked by the former president, who is currently leading the GOP primary field, to join his ticket.

The South Carolina Republican was one of eight Republicans who joined with Democrats to oust Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., from the House speakership last month, launching House Republicans into a month of internal turmoil as the lawmakers struggled to select another speaker.
