Tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy was at the center of attacks by multiple of his Republican presidential opponents during Wednesday night's debate over his foreign policy stances on Ukraine and China.

“We have to level with the American people on this issue,” Ramaswamy said about the Russian invasion of Ukraine. “Just because Putin is … an evil dictator, does not mean Ukraine is good.”

The comment received swift pushback from former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, who responded: “A win for Russia is a win for China.”

As the two went back-and-forth, Haley added, “But I forgot, you like China, that’s why you’re okay with it.”

Former Vice President Mike Pence also reiterated Haley’s point, telling Ramaswamy that “if you let Putin have Ukraine, that’s a green light to China to take Taiwan. Peace comes through strength,” he said.
