Former Vice President Mike Pence says then-Vice President Joe Biden offered him some words of advice during the presidential transfer of power from the Obama Administration to the Trump Administration in 2017.

"He did give me some advice," Pence said during a town hall with NewsNation on Wednesday. "It was, 'stay close to the president and build that relationship.' And I will tell you, for all the faults of the Obama-Biden years, they had a good working relationship."

Biden and then-President Barack Obama were known to have a close friendship and working relationship throughout their administration, once making each other friendship bracelets, and have remained close during Biden's time in the White House.

"And I will tell you, It didn’t end the way I wanted it to, but I’m very proud of the relationship I had with President Trump during our four years," Pence added, referring to former President Donald Trump and Pence's disagreement over the vice president's decision to certify the 2020 election, declaring Biden as president, rather than challenging it as Trump had asked.

The former vice president and current presidential hopeful said he "would always be proud" of what he and Trump accomplished during their time in White House.

Pence, Trump, and Biden are all making White House bids in 2024.
