Rep. Max Miller, R-Ohio, on Friday issued a statement saying that the campaign of congressional colleague Rep. George Santos, R-N.Y., had "charged my personal credit card — and the personal card of my Mother — for contribution amounts that exceeded FEC limits."

"Neither my Mother nor I approved these charges or were aware of them," said Miller in an email to House Republicans obtained by Punchbowl. "We have spent tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees in the resulting follow up."

Miller said he has see a "list of roughly 400 other people" who had the same experience with the Santos campaign, including other members of Congress.

"My personal experience related to the allegations and findings of the Ethics Committee compels me to vote for the resolution," said Miller.

Santos is facing 23 federal charges related to alleged campaign finance fraud, which the House Ethics Committee also said it has found evidence of. A vote to expel Santos from Congress is underway Friday.
