Nearly 80% Worry Israel-Hamas War Could Lead to US Terrorist Attack: Poll
Nearly 50% disapprove of Joe Biden's handling of the conflict, according to the survey
More than 75% of Americans are concerned the Israel-Hamas war could lead to a terrorist attack within the United States, according to a new survey.
The NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ poll, released Monday, found 77% of respondents were either very or somewhat concerned about a terrorist attack in the U.S. amid the conflict in Gaza.
Republican lawmakers have pointed to the United States' southern border as too vulnerable in the wake of Hamas' October 7 attack on Israel that led to more than 1400 deaths.
The poll was conducted among 1000 registered voters on October 23 and 24.
Over 80% of respondents in the survey called it very or somewhat important for the U.S. to help protect Israel, while 70% voiced support for the U.S. sending weapons and military supplies to Israel to help fight Hamas. A majority also support humanitarian aid making its way into Gaza to support Palestinian civilians.
On President Joe Biden's handling of the conflict, 52% approve of his job performance while 48% disapprove.
