Marjorie Taylor Greene to Introduce Resolution to Censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib: ‘Sympathizing With Terrorist Organizations’
Greene is pointing to the Pro-Palestine protest at the Capitol last week as an 'insurrection' in her legislation, accusing Tlaib of leading it
Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., on Tuesday will introduce a resolution to censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., for what she calls "antisemitic activity" and "sympathizing with terrorist organizations," following the Palestinian American congresswoman's calls for a ceasefire in the Hamas-Israel war.
"The [Democratic] Party has done nothing to hold her accountable. They've done nothing to rein her in, and no one else here has done it. And so I thought it was right to list examples of – this isn't just new. This isn't a one-off thing. This is exactly who she is," Greene told Fox News Digital.
Greene is accusing Tlaib of leading the Pro-Palestine protest on Capitol Hill last week where protestors gathered under the Capitol Rotunda calling for a ceasefire after Israel retaliated to a Hamas attack on the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7 by launching airstrikes of their own. Thousands of Palestinian and Israeli civilians have been killed in the crossfire.
The Capitol protest was led by the group Jewish Voice for Peace who describes themselves as "Jews organizing toward Palestinian liberation and Judaism beyond Zionism."
Tlaib spoke at the protest, which Greene is reportedly calling an "insurrection" in her resolution.
Directly following the demonstration, Greene also requested that the United States Capitol Police preserve all evidence including video surveillance footage, police reports, and arrest records from the protest.
Greene told Fox News Digital that she doesn't think there will be GOP pushback on her resolution.
