Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., accused CNN's Jake Tapper of "standing with Hamas" after he mocked and dismissed her censure proposal against Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich.

Greene appeared on America's Sunrise on Wednesday and reacted to Tapper's Sunday monologue which ended with him telling the congresswoman: "This sh-- is not a game."

"He's definitely a Rashida Tlaib apologist," Greene said. "He's also standing with Hamas and the groups that performed an insurrection into the Capitol complex."

The "insurrection" Greene refers to is a protest held at the Capitol where demonstrators demanded a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war. Tlaib spoke at the event.

Capitol Police said multiple people were arrested at the protest, some for assaulting a police officer and some for going inside the Cannon Rotunda, where such demonstrations are not allowed.

Greene requested that Capitol Police preserve all security footage from the October 13 protest after announcing her censure effort.

Greene also accused Tlaib of a history of antisemitic remarks. The Democratic lawmaker is a vocal critic of the Israeli government and she's earned backlash amid the Israel-Hamas war. She's blamed Israel for a hospital blast that U.S. officials, including President Joe Biden, have blamed on a Gaza terror group.

Tapper admitted on Sunday there are "valid criticisms" of Tlaib, but accused Greene of twisting her words. He also showed footage from the protest and pushed back on her description of an "insurrection."

"This is not an insurrection," Tapper said. "It might be a bunch of folks with whom you disagree, it might be a bunch of people you think are misguided acting in a way you don't like, but this is not an insurrection."

Tapper, who was reporting from Tel Aviv when he addressed Greene, has been critical of antisemitism on both the right and left in recent weeks. In a discussion about Tlaib's statement responding to Hamas' October 7 attack (in which she called for an end to Israel's "apartheid" government), Tapper said it was "eye opening" for some to see the reactions from progressive liberals.

"There does seem to be, look, we spent a lot of time during the Trump years looking at antisemitism on the right... These last few days have been a real eye-opening period for a lot of people, a lot of Democrats and a lot progressives in terms of antisemitism on the left," he said. "A lot of people who seemed more shocks at dehumanizing language to describe Hamas than what Hamas actually perpetrated on Saturday."

At another point in his monologue, he told Greene "this sh-- is not a game" and said her censure read like it was "written by someone who seems to have learned about the Israel/Arab conflict maybe 10 minutes before."

"Antisemitism is not a cudgel to be used against people for political points — nor is Islamophobia or racism or anti-gay behavior or misogyny or any other kind of bigotry," Tapper said about Greene's censure effort.

On Wednesday, Greene said she was "appalled" and referred to Tlaib as the most "antisemitic" and "pro-Hamas" member of Congress.

"Shame on Jake Tapper. Shame on CNN for putting that message out," she said. "And shame on anyone who believes those lies."
