A top Republican donor is asking for his money back after Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry hired Corey Lewandowski, a former campaign manager for former President Donald Trump, as a political advisor on his Republican gubernatorial campaign.

Republican donor John Odom has been a major contributor to Odom's campaign and told POLITICO he was "deeply disappointed and disgusted by Jeff Landry’s decision to hire Corey Lewandowski."

“I urge Landry to reconsider his decision," Odom said in a statement to the news outlet.

Lewandowski worked on Trump's 2016 campaign and was accused by Odom's former wife, Trashelle Odom, of making unwanted sexual advances towards her in 2021.

Lewandowski was later charged with misdemeanor battery and struck a deal with prosecutors.

Odom asked Landry to "immediately" return his financial contribution, though a representative for Trashelle Odom told Landry to keep the money.

According to the outlet, Landry's campaign has not said whether they will return the contribution.

Landry is largely seen as the favorite to win the Louisiana gubernatorial election.
