Lindsey Graham to Lead Senators on Trip to Israel, Saudi Arabia

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., announced Sunday that he will be leading a bipartisan group of senators on a trip to Israel and Saudi Arabia in the coming days in an effort to establish normal relations between both countries.

"There is a desire by both parties to move forward in this effort to normalize relationships," Graham said in an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press."

Graham added that he is "somewhat optimistic" about the goals of the trip, which comes as the U.S. continues to respond to fallout of the surprise attack on Israel by Hamas last weekend.

NBC News reported Sunday that Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., will join Graham on the trip.
