Titled "Magic, Wonder, and Joy," the White House's 2023 holiday theme is inspired by how children experience the upcoming season, according to a White House press release on Monday.

"In this season of reflection and goodwill, we hope you will embrace your inner child and delight in simply being present with those you love," President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden said in the statement.

Over 98 Christmas trees, 22,100 bells and 142,425 holiday lights were used in this year's decor, which took more than 300 volunteers to construct.

"Each room on display is designed to capture the pure, unfiltered delight and imagination of our childhoods, to see this time of year through the wondrous, sparkling eyes of children," the President and first lady said.

The official White House Christmas tree this year is an 18.5-foot Fraser fir that will be on display in the Blue Room, where it will celebrate scenes and landscapes from across the country.

The first lady will officially unveil the holiday theme at a White House event on Monday that will invite National Guard families to be the first people to see this year's decor. Throughout the holiday season, the White House said it expects to see approximately 100,000 visitors.
