Jill Biden Blasts GOP for Treatment of Her Son: ‘What They Are Doing to Hunter Is Cruel’

MSNBC's 'Morning Joe' co-host Mika Brzekzinski mentioned Republicans 'obsessing' over Hunter and showing pictures of him 'during vulnerable moments,' as well as his struggles with drug addiction

First lady Jill Biden says the treatment of her son Hunter Biden by House Republicans investigating him has been "cruel."

"Have have you been been coping personally with the onslaught of accusations against your husband and your family, including and especially Hunter?" MSNBC's "Morning Joe" co-host Mika Brzezinski asked Biden in a new one-on-one interview clip shared on the network's X, formerly Twitter account, Thursday morning.

Brzekzinski mentioned Republicans "obsessing" over Hunter and showing pictures of him "during vulnerable moments," and his struggles with drug addiction.

"This would crush any family," Brzekzinski said.

"Mika, I think what they are doing to Hunter is cruel and I am really proud of how Hunter has rebuilt his life after addiction," the First Lady replied. "You know, I love my son and it's hurting my grandchildren and that's what I'm so concerned about it that it's affecting their lives as well."

Hunter Biden made a surprise appearance on Capitol Hill Wednesday to briefly sit in on a House Oversight Committee hearing where lawmakers ruled in a party line vote that they would move forward with a resolution contempt of Congress charges against the first son.

He is a father is five children: Naomi, Finnegan, Maisy, Navy and Beau Jr., all grandchildren of the first lady and President Joe Biden.
