GOP Support of Trump Drops After Indictment: Poll

While 53% of adults believe Trump has done something illegal regarding the classified documents found at Mar-a-Lago, an increase from 47% who believed so in April

A new poll shows that 60% of Republicans have a favorable view of Donald Trump, down from 68% who said so in April, showing a shift since his indictment regarding his handling of classified documents.

The nationwide poll was conducted June 22-26, 2023 by AP-NORC.

While 53% of adults believe Trump has done something illegal regarding the classified documents found at Mar-a-Lago, an increase from 47% who believed so in April.

There is clearly a partisan divide on the matter, with 84% of Democrats saying they believed Trump had acted illegally regarding the classified documents, compared to only 23% of Republicans.

Trump was indicted on 37 federal counts earlier this month.
