Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., told Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., to "pull [himself] together" after McCarthy reportedly told Republicans threatening to remove him from office to "move the f***ing motion" Thursday.

In order to get elected speaker of the House, McCarthy made a number of concessions to Gaetz and affiliated representatives in the Freedom Caucus, including a rule change that now allows just one member of Congress to bring a motion to remove the speaker. Previously five representatives were required to do so.

Gaetz and McCarthy have been at odds, with Gaetz threatening to bring a motion to vacate the office of the speaker. Gaetz also called McCarthy a liar Wednesday after McCarthy said their opposition was over an alleged ethics violation. Gaetz insists it is over policy disagreements.
