Pro-Palestinian protesters on Friday occupied the News Corp headquarters in New York City where Fox News' headquarters are located.

Video posted to social media by the activist group ANSWER Coalition show demonstrators chanting phrases like, "Fox News lies cover up genocide!" and "Fox News, you can't hide! Your lies cover up genocide!"

Protesters can also be heard chanting, "from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free," a phrase that's been identified by the Anti-Defamation League and others as antisemitic.

A total of 16 people were arrested at the demonstration, according to the New York City Police Department. The charges for those detained are not yet available.

The Messenger reached out to Fox News for comment, but did not immediately hear back.

The protest was one of two on Friday. Before the News Corp building was entered, approximately 100 pro-Palestine demonstrators protested at the the NYPD's 1st Precinct where 12 people were taken into custody.

The protests are part of a series of protests meant to disrupt businesses seen as allies to Israel.

Last month, thousands of demonstrators protesting Israel's strikes on Gaza shut down the Brooklyn Bridge. Israel has been striking Gaza in response to Hamas' October 7 attack which resulted in more than 1,200 deaths. Civilian deaths in Gaza have led to calls for a ceasefire from some.

A protest outside a Democratic National Convention (DNC) led to pro-Palestinian protesters clashing with police

There have also been a series of demonstrations on college campuses, some of which have included reports of antisemitism
