Florida GOP Rep. Carlos Gimenez Blasts Matt Gaetz As ‘Joe Biden’s Favorite Republican’ 

Rep. Carlos Gimenez, R-Fla., labeled Rep. Matt Gaetz President Joe Biden's "favorite Republican" after Gaetz promised to put forth a motion to vacate House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., from his position.

"Matt Gaetz is Joe Biden's favorite Republican," Gimenez said Sunday on Fox News.

The Florida congressman accused Gaetz of causing "chaos" in his own party and benefitting Democrats, calling him a "Democrat in disguise."

Gimenez blasted Gaetz for refusing to support a federal spending bill without major cuts. Over the weekend, the House managed to pass a 45-day extension, averting a government shutdown at the 11th hour.

Gimenez argued Gaetz and others demanding spending cuts and prolonging the process meant Republicans did not get funding for the southern border they were seeking.

"Every migrant coming through the border right now should have a big sign saying, thank you, Matt Gaetz. Or gracias, Matt Gaetz," the congressman said.

Gimenez said he will stand by McCarthy and he'll actively convince other GOP lawmakers to as well.

"I'm going to vote and I'm going to stay with Kevin McCarthy," he said.
