Eric Trump criticized the Tuesday ruling by a New York judge requiring his father former President Donald Trump to dissolve the former president's New York business empire, claiming that the judge undervalued Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort and labeling the decision "corrupt."

"In an attempt to destroy my father and kick him out of New York, a Judge just ruled that Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach Florida, is only worth approximate '$18 Million dollars,'" Trump wrote in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. "Mar-a-Lago is speculated to be worth well over a billion dollars making it arguably the most valuable residential property in the country. It is all so corrupt and coordinated."

The decision found that Trump inflated the value of Mar-a-Lago consistently, referring to one assessor's appraisal that estimated the property's value at between $18 million and $27.6 million.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron ruled on Tuesday that Trump and his business partners did not correct their behavior after being warned of a "propensity to engage in persistent fraud." The former president could face up to $250 million in civil damages.
