Incumbent Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, a Democrat, is leading his GOP challenger Daniel Cameron in the state's gubernatorial race.

As of 8 p.m., the New York Times reported that Beshear had a six-point lead over Cameron, the state's attorney general. The Kentucky governor appears to have improved on his 2019 margins in some counties that have already reported results.

At least one outlet, The Hill, has called the race for Beshear based on data from analysis firm Decision Desk HQ. The Associated Press, which The Messenger uses for race calls, has not yet declared a winner.

Polls ahead of Election Day generally reported that Beshear maintained a lead over Cameron.
