Clarence Thomas Recuses Himself as Supreme Court Rejects Former Trump Lawyer John Eastman’s Appeal
Eastman has been indicted for his efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia
The Supreme Court on Monday denied an appeal from former lawyer to former President Donald Trump, John Eastman, in his Jan. 6 probe as Justice Clarence Thomas recused himself from the case.
Eastman was seeking to vacate court rulings that allowed his emails from a former employer to be handed over to the Jan. 6 Committee.
Eastman once clerked for Thomas at the Supreme Court.
Eastman is also facing indictment for his efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.
Thomas, who recused himself in this case, gained support from Eastman earlier this year after some ethical questions were brought to light against the Supreme Court justice.
