The super PAC supporting former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will begin airing a new TV ad Tuesday featuring former President Donald Trump’s mugshot in New Hampshire, the crucial first-in-the-nation primary state.

Tell It Like It Is PAC is spending six figures to air the 30-second spot statewide. The super PAC updated a previous ad with an image of Trump’s mugshot and footage of Christie hugging popular New Hampshire GOP Gov. Chris Sununu at a recent town hall.

“Tired of the drama, the distractions, the lies? It’s time for conservatives to win again,” the ad says. “Christie tells the truth, and he’ll beat Joe Biden easily.”

The word “LIES” flashes across the screen atop Trump’s mugshot. The former president and primary frontrunner was photographed last week at the Fulton County Jail in Georgia, where he was indicted for his alleged attempt to overturn the 2020 election.

Christie is Trump’s most vocal critic in the crowded GOP primary field. The strategy hasn’t won him much support among GOP primary voters nationwide, who are largely loyal to Trump. But the Trump trolling has given him a slight polling bump in New Hampshire. A recent Emerson College poll showed Christie tied with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for second place in the Granite State, boosted by older, highly educated voters who dislike Trump.

The TV ad touts Christie’s career as a “successful blue-state governor” and “a former prosecutor who convicted child pornographers, corrupt politicians.” The commercial also highlights Christie’s battles against teachers unions, city crime and taxes.
