Christie on Biden Impeachment: ‘I Don’t See Evidence Yet’ to Support It

'I think we’re cheapening impeachment by doing that kind of thing,' Christie said

GOP Presidential candidate and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie called the most recent impeachment inquiry of President Joe Biden a way of "cheapening" the action, saying he has not yet seen evidence to support the move.

While on MSNBC's Morning Joe, Christie said that while Hunter Biden and the Biden family's business dealings are an issue that should be investigated, an impeachment inquiry is not yet the solution.

"I think we’re cheapening impeachment by doing that kind of thing," Christie said. "I criticized Democrats for doing that over the Ukraine issue a number of years ago, on impeachment, and I don’t want my party to fall victim to the same thing."

He also called Hunter Biden's previous plea deal "ridiculous," and said investigating his business dealings further would give the special counsel the chance to "establish credibility."

"So, we need to know the facts on that, and then we can make an intelligent decision about whether the facts exist to move forward to something more serious," Christie completed. "But right now, I think what’s necessary is an investigation both by the Congress and by the Department of Justice."

"But I don’t see evidence yet that would support impeaching Joe Biden,” Christie said.
