Chris Christie’s Niece Charged for Alleged Drunken Incident at New Orleans Airport
Christie's niece was charged with one count resisting police by force or violence, which is a felony
Chris Christie's niece Shannon Epstein was charged on Monday for resisting police with violence, one year after the incident at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, where she was allegedly drunk and assaulted deputies.
Epstein reportedly kicked, bit and spat at deputies trying to arrest her in November 2022, after getting kicked off her flight on Thanksgiving Day.
She then asked a family who she appeared to believe were Latinos if they were "smuggling cocaine," according to reporting by NBC News.
Epstein allegedly injured six deputies and had to be restrained in a wheelchair, while reportedly asking "Do you know who I am? I'm Chris Christie's daughter" while threatening people's jobs.
Christie's niece was charged this week with one count of resisting police by force or violence — which is a felony — and two counts of disturbing the peace by public intoxication, a misdemeanor.
