President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign slammed former President Donald Trump’s speech to auto workers on Wednesday.

Biden campaign spokesman Kevin Munoz said in a statement that Trump’s “low-energy, incoherent” speech to a non-union factory in Michigan “was a pathetic, recycled attempt to feign support for working Americans.”

“Americans have seen him try this before and they aren’t buying it,” Munoz said. “They know who Donald Trump really is: a billionaire charlatan running on empty words, broken promises, and lost jobs.”

Trump, the leading GOP presidential candidate, gave a speech to auto workers amid union workers striking against the Big Three automakers instead of taking part in the second Republican primary debate on Wednesday.

Some auto workers, including those who support Trump, expressed disappointment in Trump speaking at a non-union plant.

Trump claimed during his speech Biden would ship auto worker jobs to China if he is elected again.

"A vote for Crooked Joe means the future of the auto industry will be made in China," he said. "The auto industry is being assassinated . . . it’s a hit job on Michigan."

Munoz said in his statement that Trump created incentives for companies to ship manufacturing overseas, and that there were fewer jobs when he left office than when he entered.

“We all remember, and Americans won’t forget come November 2024,” Munoz said.
