Biden's speech will take place from the Oval Office at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said.

The news comes as Biden returns from a <a href="https://themessenger.com/politics/takeaways-from-bidens-solidarity-mission-to-israel" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">diplomatic trip to Israel</a>, where he reiterated support for the country's war with Hamas and announced that humanitarian aid would be sent to civilians in Gaza.

The president also said he planned to submit an "unprecedented" aid package for Israel’s defense to Congress this week. That package is also expected to include additional funding for Ukraine.
