Biden Says ‘No Clear Evidence’ Iran Was Involved In Hamas Attacks In Israel
The president also noted that Iran 'constantly supports' the Palestinian terrorist group
President Joe Biden said there is "no clear evidence" Iran was behind Hamas' deadly attacks in Israel.
In an interview with CBS' "60 Minutes" that aired Sunday, Biden noted that Iran "constantly supports" the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, but said there was was a lack of evidence "at this point" if they had advanced knowledge or helped plan the assault that left at least 1,300 people, including 30 Americans, dead.
"I don't wanna get into classified information," Biden said. "But to be very blunt with you, there is no clear evidence of that."
The president also reiterated his warning for Iran not to get involved in the conflict.
Republican lawmakers have become especially critical of Iran and their potential role in the attack. They've also criticized Biden's administration for unfreezing $6 billion in funds as part of a prisoner swap last year.
U.S. officials have insisted the funds have not been spent.
