Despite efforts from President Joe Biden's administration to promote the positive impacts of its economic agenda, 58% of Americans say they believe the economy has gotten worse over the last two years, new Wall Street Journal poll found.

The poll comes as Biden and campaign surrogates have traveled around the country touting the president's economic policies, dubbed "Bidenomics," including the impacts of the Inflation Reduction Act and low unemployment rates.

That message has not resonated with voters, as only 28% of those polled said they believe the economy has gotten better over the last two years. Almost three in four Americans said that inflation is getting worse.

The poll of was conducted among 1,500 voters from Aug. 24-30 and had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.
