Biden Campaign Launches Latino Outreach Blitz to Counter GOP Debate

'Republicans talk a lot of game, but Joe Biden actually delivers for Latinos and middle class families,' said Biden campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez in a statement.

The Biden campaign will start a Latino voter outreach push to coincide with the second Republican presidential primary debate at the Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California September 27.

The outreach blitz will begin with a Democratic National Committee press call Monday with DNC Chair Jaime Harrison, California Gov. Gavin Newsom and former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.

"Next week, the American people will once again see the out-of-touch, extreme field of MAGA Republicans on full display," Harrison said in a statement to The Messenger. "While they showcase their dangerous agenda, we’ll be there holding them accountable and mobilizing the Biden-Harris coalition around an agenda that has actually delivered for Latino communities."

Tuscon, Ariz., Mayor Regina Romero and Rep. Verónica Escobar, D-Texas, will also serve as media surrogates to promote the DNC's messaging to the Latino community this week.

An English and Spanish language ad for the Biden campaign will also run on television this week, and other forms of advertisement—such as a plane with a banner and a billboard truck, both at the GOP debate venue—will highlight the Democrat's attempts to contrast themselves with the Republican Party.

"Republicans talk a lot of game, but Joe Biden actually delivers for Latinos and middle class families," said Biden campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez in a statement. "That very stark difference will be on display at next week's Republican debate, and the campaign will be highlighting the difference between talk and action."

Former President Donald Trump will skip the debate and six of his rivals are slated to participate.
