President Joe Biden will travel to Alaska to attend a 9/11 memorial on the anniversary of the 2001 terror attacks.

The White House announced the president's travel plans in a Monday statement. He will be traveling with military members and their families.

Vice President Kamala Harris and second gentleman Douglas Emhoff will mark the anniversary by attending a memorial event in New York City at the National September 11 Memorial, according to the White House.

President Biden will be traveling to Vietnam the day prior to the 9/11 anniversary. He will meet with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and other leaders.

The president will discuss "ways to further deepen cooperation" between the countries through expanding Vietnam's economy, developing "workforce development programs," and climate change.
