A new poll has found that Americans want the government to pay significantly more attention to foreign policy in 2024.

The poll, conducted by The Associated Press and NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, found that 38% of Americans identified foreign policy as one of the top five issues the government should take on in the new year.

The number highlights a significant jump from the 18 percent of respondents in 2023 who listed foreign affairs as the top issue for the year.

The poll found that respondents who were either Republican or Democrat were each more likely to list the issue, with 46% of Republicans and 34% of Democrats doing so.

The growing interest in foreign policy comes as the United States continues to send military and financial aid to Israel and Ukraine as their wars continue.

It also showed respondents citing inflation and the economy as main concerns, with 30% percent listing inflation and 24% listing the economy.

Education and student loans remained on the list as well, with 22% including it.
