Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) received pushback from progressives after putting her support behind President Joe Biden's 2024 reelection bid.

"I think he’s done quite well given the limitations that we have," the New York congresswoman said on a recent episode of the "Pod Save America" podcast.

Ocasio-Cortez said there have been "ebbs and flows" to Biden's presidency, but she will support him.

"I believe, given that field, yes," she said about endorsing Biden.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Marianne Williamson have launched Democratic 2024 challenges against Biden.

"I think he’s done quite well given the limitations that we have," Ocasio-Cortez said of the president.

Some were not pleased that one of the most progressive Democrats in Congress was supporting Biden. In the past, Ocasio-Cortez has been vocally supportive of progressive candidates like Bernie Sanders.

"Endorsing Joe Biden now is a betrayal of progressive interests. It was true of Bernie Sanders’ endorsement & its true of AOC," former Sanders press secretary Briahna Joy Gray tweeted in response to Biden endorsements by both Ocasio-Cortez and her former boss. "*Most* Democrats don’t want Biden to run. Bernie and AOC are tragically out of step w/ the movement & the moment."

The activist continued pouncing on Ocasio-Cortez, noting Biden's controversial decision to provide cluster munitions to Ukraine.

"Biden is advocating for sending cluster bombs to Ukraine and you’re endorsing him? AOC once said in a normal country, she and Biden wouldn’t be in the same party. Maybe that was once true. Not anymore," Gray tweeted.

Others similarly mocked Ocasio-Cortez for the early endorsement.

"Yes, Biden has done a good job! (If you like drilling permits on federal land and cluster bombs...)," podcaster and comedian Graham Elwood tweeted.

In a Sunday MSNBC appearance, Ocasio-Cortez also discussed the 2024 GOP field. The congresswoman blasted Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for trying to "out-Trump Trump" and said she does not see the governor or other challengers closing the gap on Donald Trump's lead in the polls.
