The terrorist group Hamas has accused President Joe Biden of falling for "the Israeli narrative" ahead of the president's trip to Israel on Wednesday.

Hazem Qassem, a spokesperson for Hamas, told CNN in a phone interview that the United State's stance towards the people of Palestine has been "aggressive" and called the U.S. "a culprit in this war against our people."

"Unfortunately the US administration and the U.S. President Biden took a very aggressive measure against the Palestinian people and fell for the Israeli narrative," Qassem told CNN. "His visit is only to support the Israelis financially and morally and to encourage the occupation to commit more massacres against our Palestinian brothers and sisters, children and the elderly."

Hamas claims that by visiting Israel, Biden, although he intends to discuss financial and moral support, will only encourage "them to "commit "more massacres against Palestinians."

Since Hamas attacked the Gaza Strip in a surprise attack over a week ago, more than 1,400 Israelis have been killed and as a result of Israel's retaliation in the form of airstrikes, nearly 2,000 Palestinians have been killed.
