A black bear has drawn online attention after being filmed comfortably seated in a truck, munching on an employee's lunch.

The video, posted on Facebook on June 15, shows the bear sneakily eating nuts in a truck belonging to American Plate Glass at a job site in Sunapee, New Hampshire.

“American Plate Glass got a new employee this afternoon at our job site in Sunapee,” the company jokingly wrote in the Facebook post. Milinda Stark Scott, the company’s owner, shared the video humorously, quipping that the bear had shown up for work “out of uniform.”

As reported by the Charlotte Observer, it's believed that the bear entered the truck through an open window. Employees think that the bear was motivated by hunger, as it can be seen enjoying an employee's bag of nuts.

Joey Carter, an employee, told NCEN that he and his team spotted the bear while moving tools. "I ran up to find the bear eating nuts," Carter said. "The bear sat there for five to ten minutes and then grabbed my cooler."

Scott said she initially thought the bear was a person in a bear costume because of how it was sitting in the front seat. She also posted photos of the bear lounging by some trees after the incident, captioning the post, "Having a rest after lunch." No damage was reported to the truck.

Sunapee is known as a "prime black bear habitat," according to town officials. This isn't the first bear food heist caught on camera. Colorado Parks and Wildlife shared a video on Twitter on May 12, showing a bear opening a pickup truck's doors and stealing a lunch.

"In case you were looking for a sign to lock your car doors — this is it," Colorado Parks and Wildlife wrote, sharing data on increasing bear activity. They cautioned that bears should not be eating from trash cans, bird feeders, or other sources of human food.

This can condition them to seek out human food, leading to more such incidents. "Bears are gonna bear — people are the solution — change your habits," they advised in a tweet.
