A train line linking London's Heathrow Airport with the city was suspended and delayed for several hours on Thursday due to a swan obstructing the track.

Transport for London reported the service disruption on its website, attributing it to an "obstruction on the track."

Passengers aboard the affected trains reported that they were informed the disruption was caused by a swan on the rail.

The trains, not equipped with bathroom facilities, left passengers stuck for up to an hour on the stationary train.

National Rail Enquiries attributed the disruption to "animals on the roadway."

The affected Elizabeth line, which opened last year following 13 years of construction at a cost of $25 billion, was significantly impacted by the incident.
