What’s a ‘Sugar Father’? This TikTok Skit Explains the difference vs. ‘sugar daddy’Content Machine/YouTube

Ever wondered if there was an alternative to the sugar daddy/sugar baby lifestyle that offered something other than financial support? Well, a humorous TikTok skit provided the answer, and it’s called a sugar father.

For those who need a primer on the sugar baby arrangement, buckle up.

The relationship typically involves a young, attractive person (heretofore referred to as the “sugar baby”) and a wealthy, older man or woman (the “sugar daddy” or “sugar mommy”).

In this usage, “sugar” means cold, hard cash, or expensive gifts or experiences, typically in exchange for time spent together. The exact nature of the relationship depends on the individual.

Now, how about a “sugar father”? Well, the TikTok account Content Machine said it’s similar, “but more supportive and practical.

“I don’t pay my sugar daughter with money or gifts, I pay them with valuable life lessons,” the sugar father character said in the video.

For example, he taught one of the young ladies how to check their car’s oil, just like a real father might do for his daughter.

“Any old sugar daddy can just buy you expensive jewelry, but will they be there when you just need someone to listen?” the sugar father character asked.

The character listened to a woman’s problems with dating and showed up at the man’s house to threaten him, maybe like a real dad would do.

To sum it all up, the video laid out the idea clearly: “Sugar fathers: For sugar babies with daddy issues.”

Users in the comments had different reactions.

“Bro is just the therapy friend, father figure friend, violent friend, and rich friend all rolled up into one being,” one user commented.

Some people were quite fond of the idea.

“I genuinely want one of these,” one user wrote.

“Tbh wish I had one of these I need some life lessons honestly,” another wrote.

Others decided they could settle for the arrangement.

“I’ll take what I can get at this point,” another user wrote.
