‘Neverending Story’s’ Falkor Replica Prop Goes Viral After Being Discovered in New Jersey Garage
Around 250 people showed up to meet a piece of their childhood
A vintage store in New Jersey recently provided millennials with a unique opportunity to relive their childhood when they unveiled a towering piece of nostalgia - Falkor the dragon from the 1984 movie, "The NeverEnding Story."
Michele Iervolino and her fiancé, Robert Schorr, co-owners of Rascal Salvage Vintage in High Bridge, NJ, brought Falkor back to life for their store's anniversary celebration, according to NJ Advance Media.
When Iervolino shared the news of Falkor's arrival on Instagram, the excitement went far beyond their regular clientele. "Khloe Kardashian liked it and so did Diplo," Iervolino told the station. "It was simply insane."
Iervolino initially discovered Falkor in a Facebook group. The piece is not the original movie prop, but a recreation by New Jersey artist Elizabeth Lieb. The duo retrieved the dragon in a UPS truck and moved him to a storage facility near their store, as per the outlet.
"Dreams do come true," read the store's Instagram post announcing their new addition. A joyful Iervolino posed with the gigantic creature in the accompanying picture.
Upon learning they could visit Falkor in person, people streamed into Schorr and Iervolino's store. "He is truly a magical creature," said Iervolino. What we didn’t realize was that so many people would drive so far to come ... We were really touched and grateful and blown away.”

Approximately 250 people attended the celebration where they had the chance to take pictures with Falkor and even brush his teeth. Despite the prop only consisting of Falkor's head, the store arranged a stool behind the piece to let visitors simulate riding the dragon.
"FACT: Falkor is universally loved and we couldn't be more thrilled," the store shared on Facebook. "Thank you to everyone who's joined us on this never-ending journey."
