Woman’s Body Found Inside a Bag on Side of Illinois Road

Authorities are investigating the death of an Illinois woman after her body was found in a bag by the side of the road. 

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said they found the woman’s body at around 7 a.m. Wednesday morning. Detectives suspect a homicide, according to local news outlet ABC7. 

The body was found on the shoulder of Hunt Club Road, south of Route 173, in Wadsworth after a woman called 911 to report a possible body on the side of the road, Lake County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chief Christoper Covelli told reporters. 

The Lake County Coroner's Office is trying to determine the exact cause of death and detectives from the sheriff's office are investigating. 

Covelli said Lake County sheriff’s detectives continue to investigate the homicide and additional information would be released as it becomes available, per Lake and McHenry Scanner.

Authorities had not yet released the identity of the person whose body was found.
