A woman in a wheelchair seen being kidnapped by Hamas is a Holocaust survivor, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said, speaking on a terrorist incursion into Israel that has left over 700 dead and thousands more injured.

Blinken spoke to ABC News on Sunday about the ongoing violence in Israel, which was struck by a surprise attack by the Palestinian militant group Hamas this weekend.

Footage of people being captured and taken from Israel into Hamas has been shared on social media.

Blinken said those abducted included children and a "Holocaust survivor in a wheelchair."

"This is a massive terrorist assault on Israel," he told the outlet, "with terrorists going into Israeli homes going into Israeli towns gunning down civilians in their homes, on the streets, grabbing people, men, women, children, and taking them into Gaza — a Holocaust survivor in a wheelchair, women and children all being dragged into- into Gaza, you can imagine what this is what this is doing in Israel to Israelis, and it should be something that revolts the entire world."

Josh Kraushaar, editor for the Jewish Insider, suggested the Holocaust survivor is an "elderly woman," whose kidnapping may have been shared on social media.
