The wife of a Georgia-based actor is issuing a rare message of compassion after her husband's alleged killer, who is accused of murdering him last week during a road rage incident, was arrested.

“I forgive you. I pray that you find truth,” said Nicole Paahana Cook, according to local TV station WSB-TV. “You took something away that I can never get back.”

Jovan Cook, 37, died a few days after he was shot in the head last Thursday at a street intersection, in what police called an apparent road rage incident. It’s unclear how the shooting transpired or why.

Emergency personnel rushed him to the hospital, but he died from his injuries days later.

Jovan was a rising actor who made an appearance in TV shows like “Survivor’s Remorse” and “Saints & Sinners,” according to his IMDb page.

WSB-TV reported that a person in connection with the shooting has been arrested but police have not yet given further details.

The family held a prayer vigil for Jovan on Friday.

“It’s been rough. It’s been tough,” Nicole told WSB-TV. “It’s been a heavy transition for us.”

Nicole said Jovan was a devoted and caring person, which is why she wants to show compassion for his killer.
