WATCH: Yoga Instructor Accused of Love Triangle Murder Thwarted by Wall in Failed Escape Attempt
Kaitlin Armstrong, who is being held in custody waiting trial, made it about a block before she was captured
Video has emerged of Kaitlin Armstrong, the Austin yoga instructor who’s in jail awaiting trial for the murder of a professional cyclist as part of an alleged love triangle, running from deputies Wednesday morning.
Armstrong, 35, was escorted by sheriff's deputies to a doctor’s appointment shortly after 8 a.m. when she managed to briefly escape from custody, officials said.
The cell phone video shows a woman attempting to jump over a wall while being chased by a deputy.
She doesn't make it, and the deputy pursuing her soon catches up.
A spokesperson with the Travis County Sheriff's Office told KVUE that deputies recaptured Armstrong about a block away from where she escaped. "She remained within the deputies' eyesight at all times,” a sheriff's statement said.
Armstrong is facing a first-degree murder charge in connection with the 2022 shooting death of Moriah “Mo” Wilson. Her trial is scheduled to begin Oct. 30.

Prosecutors say Armstrong killed Wilson at an East Austin home. Investigators say that Wilson briefly had a relationship with Armstrong's boyfriend, star cyclist Colin Strickland, while he and Armstrong were on a "break."
Austin Police questioned Armstrong at the time but no arrest was made. Days later, when detectives attempted to arrest her with a warrant, Armstrong had fled the country.
She was captured more than a month later in Costa Rica despite changing her appearance.
She allegedly cut and dyed her hair, and had cosmetic surgery to her nose.
She pleaded not guilty and is currently being held on a $3.5 million bond at Travis County Jail.
