Two planes had a close call on the tarmac of Logan Airport in Boston when the winglet of one clipped the tail of another.

The incident occurred Friday afternoon and caused emergency vehicles to swarm the area, according to WCVB. One family on the United flight, sitting near the wing, got a bird’s eye view of the incident unfolding. Their kids pulled out their cell phones in anticipation of the planes making contact.

"We were driving through the tarmac and I saw this other plane stationary and we were just driving and it hit the other plane," Daniel Fredrickson said to WCVB. "I knew it was going to happen. So I caught it on video."

The passenger said they sat at that location for an hour as other people around them started taking pictures.

A Massport spokesperson told the local news outlet that a United Airlines plane had clipped the tail of a Delta aircraft that was parked while moving at a low speed. Officials for United also confirmed that it was their plane, which was heading to Newark, NJ, and that none of their 128 passengers were injured.

"Customers on the United aircraft deplaned normally at the gate, and we will rebook them onto other flights," read a statement from United Airlines.

Delta said their plane was full of passengers awaiting to depart for Detroit at the time of the incident.

"While there are no reported injuries to our customers or crew on Delta flight 1657, the aircraft came into contact with another aircraft while awaiting takeoff clearance on the Logan Airfield," a spokesperson for Delta said.

"Delta teams are working to get customers to their final destinations tonight, and we apologize for the delay."
