A viral video shows seats on a China Eastern flight shaking violently, and passengers look concerned before the plane ends in an emergency landing in Xiamen.

According to The South China Morning Post, Flight MU721, which was traveling from Shanghai to Hong Kong, made an emergency landing due to an engine malfunction that caused the flight to shake.

The video, which was filmed on Dec. 3, according to the New York Post, showed passengers grabbing onto their seats as the plane shook at 34,000 feet.

Yuan Yuan, one of the passengers onboard, said that there was a “strong burning smell” on the flight, according to The Independent.

“A malfunction message appeared. To ensure flight safety, the crew followed procedures, performed an emergency landing in Xiamen for further inspection, and the flight safely landed at 09:59,” China Eastern said of the incident in a statement cited by the news outlet.
