Video From Top of Texas State Fair Ferris Wheel Shows Crowd Running For Their Lives After Gunmen Opens Fire
The victims who survived the shooting sustained non-life threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital in a stable condition
A video shot from the top of a Ferris wheel shows panicked crowds running across the State Fair of Texas after a shooting that killed one person and injured three others.
The video, which was posted on X, formerly Twitter, and gained 7.5 million views as of Sunday morning, showed fairgoers fleeing as they evacuated the state fair.
The Dallas Police Department said the shooting happened Saturday night at the fair’s food court, where one man shot another, the Associated Press reported.
Victims who survived the shooting sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital in stable condition, according to CBS News.
The police arrested the shooting suspect after he fled the scene and recovered the gun believed to have been used. No details were revealed about the suspect including his name.
State Fair of Texas issued an emergency order for evacuation following the shooting but announced that it plans to reopen at 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon local time.

Dallas City Council member Adam R. Bazaldua said on X that the shooting sparked from a conflict between two people who knew each other.
"It's one thing to have a right to bear arms, it's another to have legislation, like permit-less carry, that makes it easier for senseless acts of gun violence like this to be carried out in our state," Bazaldua said. "I wish our Republican friends in Austin would pass meaningful gun legislation to help our constituents feel safe in public."
Weapons of any kind are banned on the State Fair of Texas grounds.
“This includes firearms, knives, clubs, tasers, chemical dispensing devices, etc. Also, all sharp metal objects, such as pocketknives, scissors, and other sharp implements, are strictly prohibited,” the fair’s policy on its website reads.
As of Sunday, 33,999 shootings have happened across the U.S. since the beginning of 2023, according to the Gun Violence Archive, an organization that records shootings across the country.
