A pig on the loose, dubbed Mr. BaconBits, had an eventful day is it managed to outwit police officers trying to capture the escaped pet.

Video captured from the body camera of a Louisville, Kentucky police officer shows the struggle between the officers and the animal as they attempted to wrangle the creature on June 28.

The fugitive evaded the officers as it ran through the neighborhood. In a Facebook post from the police department, police said they tried to use a hobble as a leash, but “our new friend wasn’t having it.” 

“Imagine our surprise when we get on scene and that potbelly bad boy is running free as a bird,” the post read. 

Several officers and people from the nieghboprhood were captured camera jogging behind the pig.

“Neighbors even pitched in to help us with the chase! Everyone fell down, everyone laughed... ahhh, good times,” the post said.

“He’s one of us,” an officer said in the video, as the pig ran out of their grasp.

After putting up a good fight, the pig was eventually captured in a backyard and officers put a dog pole on him. 

"Just a couple of pigs chasing a pig!” an officer said in the video. The pet was returned to its owners.
