The family of one of the missing people from the Davenport, Iowa apartment building collapse say his body has been recovered.

Branden Colvin Sr's family said they were told on Saturday that his remains have been recovered from the building which collapsed May 28.

His son, who bears his name, graduated from high school on Saturday, CNN reports.

“He’s proud of me. He is the reason I was even able to have enough strength to walk across the stage,” Colvin Jr. told CNN. “I walked across that stage today knowing my dad is proud of me and will forever be proud of me.”

Colvin Jr. and other members of the family have spent as much time as possible at the site on Main Street, waiting for news, according to the AP.

City officials have not announced the recovery publicly and there are no updates on the other missing people, 51-year-old Ryan Hitchcock and 60-year-old Daniel Prien, just yet.

The only official news this weekend has been about removing rubble, and that crews are working to clean up the site.

"This work will continue throughout the day today with crews working 12 hour shifts around the clock," an update posted Sunday morning said.

In the past few days, more questions have been raised about why concerns over the building's safety were not addressed.

The next official press conference from the city is expected Monday morning.
