2 Dead, 3 Wounded in Campground Shooting at Amphitheater During Washington Music Festival
'If at the Gorge [Amphitheater], seek cover. Run, hide or fight suspect,' the Sheriff's Office warned before active shooter was arrested.
Two people were killed and three injured when an "active shooter" opened fire Saturday night outside the Gorge Amphitheater in Washington state during an electronic dance music festival, police reported.
The unidentified suspect was arrested, and the area "secured," following the violence, reported the Grant County Sheriff's Office.
"Officers pursed, closed-in on the suspect, and have the suspect in custody. Multiple individuals have suffered gunshot wounds," the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post close to 11 p.m. local time.
The three injured included the suspect, said police.
Police did not identify the suspect or victims, reveal injuries or speculate on a motive for the shootings.
Before the arrest, the sheriff had earlier posted that there was an "active shooter" at the amphitheater," adding: "If at the Gorge, seek cover. Run, hide or fight suspect."
The shootings occurred in a campground outside the open-air venue in the town of George in central Washington.

When police arrived on the scene, the suspect continued to “fire randomly into the crowd” before he was apprehended, police said later at a press conference.
"Please avoid the Gorge Gate H campgrounds area as it is closed due to an incident that has been handled by local authorities," Beyond Wonderland later said on Twitter.
"There is no current danger to festival-goers or the campgrounds," it added.
Authorities on Sunday afternoon said via social media that notifications had been made to the families of all the victims. The identities of the victims will be released in the coming days, according to the sheriff's office.
