Trump Torches Robert De Niro in Delayed Reaction to Recent Award Show Bashing

Donald Trump slammed Robert De Niro on Truth Social on Sunday in response to the Oscar-winning actor's recent scathing takedown of the former president.

"Robert De Niro, whose acting talents have greatly diminished, with his reputation now shot, must even use a teleprompter for his foul and disgusting language, so disrespectful to our Country," Trump said.

De Niro had planned to speak about Trump at the Gotham Awards last week, but the remarks were allegedly removed from the teleprompter at the last minute, Variety reported.

De Niro continued with his planned commentary, reading it from his phone instead.

“Lying has become just another tool in the charlatan’s arsenal,” De Niro said. “The former president lied to us more than 30,000 times during his four years in office."

The actor was there to present “Killers of the Flower Moon,” which he starred in, with the Gotham Historical Icon and Creator Tribute.

The switch was allegedly made by employees from Apple, who produced the film, less than ten minutes before the event started.

De Niro has been vocal about his disdain for Trump since 2016, when he became the Republican candidate for the presidency.

"De Niro should focus on his life, which is a mess, rather than the lives of others. He has become a total loser, as the World watches, waits, and laughs!" Trump added.
