Trains in and out of New York's Penn Station have been suspended following a minor train derailment in New Jersey.

According to NJ Transit, "a minor slow-speed derailment" occurred Tuesday morning just outside the entrance to the North River Tunnel in New Jersey.

Stranded passengers took to X, formerly Twitter, to document the experience.

"Stuck in the train car that derailed," wrote one user. "Having your people come on and say that they need to figure out how to get us out of here and talking about the climb down isn't reassuring."

Another person posted to X that passengers, while all okay, were forced to crawl into the train tunnel.

Trains to midtown Manhattan have been diverted to Hoboken, NJ. Tickets and passes are being crossed honored at all PATH stations.
