Pierre Chen, a billionaire from Taiwan, is auctioning 25,000 bottles of wine from his personal collection.

Sotheby's is facilitating the auction, entitled "The Epicurean's Atlas: The Encyclopaedic Cellar," which has an estimated total sale of up to $50 million, the auction house told CNN. Some of the rarest individual bottle sales are reportedly projected to rake in $190,000 each.

Chen has a net worth of $5.4 billion, according to Forbes, and is a chairman and founder of electronics dealer Yageo Corporation.

George Lacey, head of Sotheby’s Wine for Asia, said in a statement that Chen is in a "league of his own" when it comes to wine and called the seller's collection's volume and versatility "staggering."

"There is currently more wine in his cellars than any one individual could ever hope to drink in a lifetime, but wine is for drinking," Lacey said.

According to Sotheby's, this sale represents just "a fraction" of what's in Chen's cellars.

Barrons reports the collection will be sold off through a series of sales taking place over the course of a year. The first sale is set to be on Nov. 24 at Sotheby’s in Hong Kong, according to the auction house.
