A 17-year-old Texas teen is accused of killing his teenage girlfriend who gave birth less than a month ago apparently after finding out he was not the father.

Ikea Hood, 17, was shot and killed in her home on Sunday.

Dallas Police Department arrested Trevon Wright on Tuesday after naming him earlier as a person of interest.

They have not revealed a motive for the shooting or details on how Wright and Hood knew each other, but WFAA-TV cited an affidavit reported the pair had been in a tumultuous two-year on-and-off relationship.

The news outlet reported that Hood planned to tell Wright he wasn’t the father of the baby the day she was killed. Wright previously thought the baby was his.

He is accused of shooting her in her locked bedroom, then escaping through the window.

Hood was a junior at Lancaster High School. She was a member of the school’s Tigerette Drill Team.

“Dancing, fashion, beauty, hair and her 3-week-old baby girl Ice'Lynn were everything to her,” Jalaya Williams said on a GoFundMe page to raise money for her family.

Hood left behind seven siblings.
