A second busload of migrants arrived in Los Angeles after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott last month said he was relocating border-crossers to the "self-declared sanctuary city."

The bus arrived at Union Station from Brownsville, Texas, around 12:40 p.m. on Saturday, according to reports.

The 41 migrants on board were recently released by the Border Patrol after traveling to the U.S. from Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Cuba, Venezuela, Belize, and Nicaragua, local station KTLA reported.

The group included 11 children, according to KABC.

The migrants were taken to St. Anthony's Church, where they were given water, food, clothing, and medical exams.

“Here in this parish is a place of safety and a place of welcome for all immigrants,” the Rev. Arturo Corral said.

Most were reportedly picked up by family members or sponsors.

City officials weren't formally notified but "became aware of the bus" on Friday and mobilized a team to meet the migrants, according to a statement from a spokesperson for Mayor Karen Bass.

“The city of Los Angeles believes in treating everyone with respect and dignity and that’s what we are going to do today,” spokesperson Zach Seidl said Saturday.

Members of the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights told KABC that they believed the bus was sent by Abbott, whose office didn't immediately return a request for comment from The Messenger on Sunday.

On June 14, Abbott, a Republican, announced the arrival of a "first group of migrants" sent to Los Angeles from Texas.

Abbott said the Lone Star State's "small border towns remain overwhelmed and overrun by the thousands of people illegally crossing into Texas from Mexico."

"Los Angeles is a major city that migrants seek to go to, particularly now that its city leaders approved its self-declared sanctuary city status," he said.

"Our border communities are on the frontlines of President Biden's border crisis, and Texas will continue providing this much-needed relief until he steps up to do his job and secure the border."

In January, Biden blamed Congressional Republicans for having "refused to consider" his plan to "completely overhaul what has been a broken immigration system for a long time."
