Tennessee Buc-ee’s Breaks Record for World’s Largest Gas Station With 120 Pumps

Drivers in Tennessee can make a record-breaking pit stop at Buc-ee's, home of the world's largest gas station.

The 120-pump, 74,000 square-foot location opened on June 26 in Sevierville, outside Knoxville, with more than 350 employees. It'll be open 24/7/365.

Being the Texas-born chain that Buc-ee's is, the store is serving up fresh barbecue including brisket sandwiches and ribs along with freshly-made fudge.

"We slow-smoke it, we season it, and we get it out to the store and slice it up fresh right in front," the location's director of barbecue operations Randy Pauly told TODAY.

Buc-ee's got its start in 1982 in the Lone Star State. It has since expanded across the American South with a current count of nearly 50 locations, according to the company website.

The chain landed the No. 1 spot on Forbes' list of 2023 customer service all-stars with customers calling its restrooms “amazing,” "legendary" and "pristine." One customer called out the art for sale on the walls saying "it’s like walking through an art gallery just to use the toilet.”

Customers also love the friendly employees, inventory variety, food selection and store layout, according to Forbes.

While this Tennessee behemoth holds the record for now, Buc-ee's is returning to its home state for an even bigger 75,000-square-foot location in Luling, Texas, which is currently under construction.
